Currently, we are seeking an Account and Financial Assistant to join our Toronto, ON team. The Account and Financial Assistant will hold a junior level position, the ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. As a potential candidate you will take pride in your work and find satisfaction in a job well done.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the financial department while reporting to the Accounting Manager.
• Administer accounts payable, accounts receivable, client billing and purchase orders.
• Daily Invoicing (Managing all aspects of client billing)
• Product Database Management
• Processing expense reports
• Assists in preparing budgets
• Support of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial activities
• Prepare quarterly HST calculations and completes all filings to CRA
• Other accounting and administration projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
· Expert knowledge and experience working with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
· Solid knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite.
· Customer-oriented with excellent customer service skills and fluency in English.
· Advanced computer skills, responsible for some administrative duties through both manual and automated processing
· Work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
· Strong attention to the detail, organization, and prioritization skills
· Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
· Willingness to learn additional software.
· 2-3 years experience in a similar role
· Accounting/Bookkeeping training in a similar role
· Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit)
Qualifications
• High School Diploma Required or 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Excel functions
• Incredible attention to detail
• Knowledge of accounting practices
• Positive attitude in a fast pace working environment.
