For Amazon Alexa, Alarm.com enables device authentication.
Note: - Not individual devices but the Amazon account must be authenticated in order to utilize Alarm.com when using Two Factor authentication with Alexa.
To prove that Amazon is a reliable account:
Set the Alarm.com Skill to "On." See Connect Amazon Alexa to Alarm.com for further details.
Start a conversation with Alarm.com on the Amazon Echo gadget. "Alexa, talk to Alarm.com," you say.
"This device has not been authenticated," Alexa will reply. To authenticate the Amazon Alexa device, a six-digit number will be issued through text message or email.
Say "Alexa, instruct Alarm.com to authenticate with" to get the device authenticated.
If Alexa did not understand the code correctly, try again. For optimum results, pronounce each digit separately.
Start the procedure afresh or say, "Alexa, tell Alarm.com I need another code," to request a new code if Alexa is unable to grasp the first one.
Alarm.com may now be used with the Amazon account when it has been verified.
