COMPATIBILITY:
All Alexa-enabled Amazon devices are compatible with the Alarm.com Skill (e.g., Echo Spot, Echo Dot, Echo Show, etc.).
Considerations for compatibility include:
Amazon Alexa does not work with doorbell cameras.
Video cannot be played on the displays of Echo devices.
REQUIREMENTS:
You need the following to utilize Alarm.com with Amazon Alexa:
an Alarm.com-powered client account.
powered by Alarm.com are lights, thermostats, locks, garage doors, security panels, or cameras.
an Amazon Alexa-enabled device, such as the Echo or Echo Dot.
To configure the Alarm.com skill on Alexa:
Making voiceovers:
Ask Alexa to contact Alarm.com by saying "Alexa, talk to that device." When you answer to Alexa, she will inform you that your Alarm.com account has to be connected.
Go to Alexa.amazon.com in your computer browser or use the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone.
An Alarm.com card with a Link Account button may be seen at the top of the Home dashboard.
Click Link Account.
Scroll down to Linking the Account to complete linking your account.
Looking for skills on the Amazon Alexa app:
Launch the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone.
Slide the Menu icon.png.
Tap Games & Skills.
At the top of the screen, tap the search symbol.
In the search box, type Alarm.com.
Click Alarm.com. The ability ought to be first on the list.
To link your Alarm.com account, choose Enable on the skill page and proceed as instructed in Linking the Account.
Connecting the accounts:
Enter your account credentials to log in, then hit Allow.
If you want to enable secure actions, you will then be prompted. Unlocking the door, opening the garage, and disarming the panel are examples of secure acts that are security-sensitive and secured by a four-digit pin. Hit Allow to go to step 3 if interested; otherwise, tap Deny (go to step 4).
Then hit Submit after entering your four-digit pin.
